Assessing Classes

These are advice and tips to new teachers on how to assess a class. 1. Start small. Don't ask for too many information than you can examine and evaluate. 2. Make sure your questions are specific. Vague questions will give more varied and vague responses. 3. Do not ask questions that you do not want to know the answers. Response given will be what you do not want to hear. 4. Look at the assessment immediately. If the results of the assessment is not evaluated immediately it is most likely that the result would be left idle. 5. Make sure that you respond to the assessment in the next class period. Showing the students that you are serious about their improvement in learning thus will make them serious in their learning. 6. Explain to the students what good feedback is. Student must be shown how to give good feedbacks. 7. Make sure that the student know and understand that the assessments will not be graded. All responses will be delt with accordingly to the needs of the assessments.
