SOFT SKILLS FOR TEACHERS

Teachers need to master certain skills and carrying out their duties. These skills are Soft Skills. Why Soft Skills?

Soft Skills are related to a person's EQ ( Emotional Intelligence Quotient). They are related to personality traits, social graces, communication, language, personal habits, freindliness and optimism that characterised relationship with other people ( as discribed in WIKIPEDIA).

Soft Skills are very important as they help a staff to:-
a. handle interpersonal relations.
b. take appropriate decesions.
c. communicate effectively.
d. have good impression and impact.
e. help in personal developement.

Teachers should be able to :
a. communicate effectively and be a good communicator.
b. be a well organised teacher. Able to organise activities effectively.
c. identify and overcome burn-out behaviour.
d. adopt strategies in becoming an effective teacher.
e. motivate their students.
f. give constructive feedback.
g. win students attention and cooperation.
h. use one's voice effectively in classroom teaching.
i. master the skills of problem solving.
j. be a good public speaker.

These are some of the Soft Skills that a teacher should have and mastered. It is important that teachers master the skills mentioned above in order to be a good and effective teacher

Thanks for the info about the soft skills for teachers. Sometime we as a teacher doesn't know that we don't have to skill to become a good teacher and how to handle the problem we face due to the weakness of our students.....
